The Lawyer magazine has reported that over 40% of employers are unprepared for the the new age discrimination training that comes into effect 1 October.
HR Managers have not obtained training as they should thereby placing their employers at risk.
The majority of employers responded that they had not changed their redundancy schemes despite the need under the new laws to justify the schemes objectively.
The survey carried out by a national law firm showed that 18% would reject requests to work beyond 65.
Additionally 24% of company respondents still plan to ask for birth dates on application forms.
