Partnership and charities law to change

Consultation from BERR is proposing changes to the 118 year old law governing limited partnerships to ensure “they remain attractive in an increasingly competitive market”.
Recent partnership law changes include the birth of LLP’s-limited liability partnerships-and amendments by way of the Companies Act 2006 where the partnership in question is an LLP.
New proposals include changes to amend the law governing birth, recognition, registration and notification of key changes of partnership to Companies House within 14 days.
In a separate development the government has proposed charities will soon be able to incorporate. The Cabinet Office is seeking consultation on the Charitable Incorporated Organisation allowing new ways for charities to be incorporated that will mean a simpler process to incorporate and will mean deregulation from Companies House.
