Class action over football shirts

Which? plans to start class action for overcharged football shirts

Which? consumer association is planning to sue JJB Sports under a class action by way of the Enterprise Act 2002 to recover £20 or so for certain over-priced England and Manchester United replica shirts.

The basis of any action will be the OFT fine in 2003 that amounted to £16million for cartel price fixing. Though various companies were fined for price fixing and anti-competitive behaviour consumers have been left out of pocket but following a rejection of an appeal by JJB Sports by the House Of Lords in February consumers can now attempt to obtain redress.

Consumers can register their claim online at www.which.co.uk.
