Newsreader set to claim age discrimination against Channel Five

It has been reported that newsreader and television presenter Selina Scott is claiming that Channel Five discriminated against her on the grounds of her age after the channel allegedly reneged on an agreement for her to stand in for a fellow newsreader on maternity leave. In June, the channel announced that two other newsreaders, aged 28 and 32, would instead cover the maternity leave. Ms Scott argues that her contract was terminated at the last minute as she was "too old".
